Reporting to: Director of Analog Design
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and define complex CMOS analog circuitry such as DC-DC converters, LDO’s, reference generators, clocks, comparators, amplifiers and data converters
- Participate in and help drive all phases of product development including definition, architecture, modeling, design, layout, lab evaluation and debug
- Develop customer proposals (working jointly) during the business development phase
- Develop detailed and prioritized chip level design and layout workflow
- Lead and manage chip functionality verification efforts through simulation and modeling, including co-simulation with digital blocks
- Guide layout engineer towards chip tape-out to ensure circuit performance requirements are met
- Mentor design team at all levels
Skills and Specifications
- Distinguished accomplishments in one or more of the following areas: power management circuits (linear and switching power supplies), high-speed data converters, audio amplifiers, or other complex mixed-signal systems
- Proven experience in both cutting-edge circuit development and delivering products to market
- Hands-on, up-to-date working knowledge of mixed-signal circuit design and verification
- Experience in design with small geometry processes (<28nm) preferred
- Know-how and expertise in system level modeling using tools such as Matlab/Simulink or similar
- Experience of using Cadence and / or Synopsys EDA tools
- Familiar with digital design flow and use of mixed-signal simulation tools such as AMS
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Education and Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in digital design
- Experience in start-ups or small companies
- Strong written and verbal skills
